I'm still waiting!!

Sitting alone in the dark of the night,
I'm reminded of a friend ever so bright.
That pushes me down the memory lane,
And all it gives me is pain,pain and more pain.

Reminded am i of those colourful days that we shared,
The midnight teas,chats and night-outs that we dared.
Those were the best days of my otherwise dark life,
Those were the days of friendship and no strife.

What was i but a troubled soul,
devastated by the ones close to my heart.
Then i met you
and my life seemed to re-start.

Life seemed so beautiful with you around,
Life turned to heaven,sorrows were nowhere to be found.
Like a teacher you changed my life forever ,
but how was i to know that happiness was meant for me never.

Inexplicably you turned your back to me midway through,
i was left wondering whether its a bad dream
or is it for true???
Devastated was i , my world tore apart
How stupid was i , thought that will never ever part.

Days,months and years passed,
I kept waiting ,still hopeful.
Hopeful tat we will be someday re-united by fate,
Hopeful tat we will be the same old pals , my mate.

The painful wait kept getting longer and longer..
but you my friend were nowhere to be found.
The painful wait kept getting longer and longer..
those sweet memories still exist in my heart and all around.
But still hopeful am i ,that you will re-surface to ease my pain,
But still hopeful am i,that defying all odds,we will meet again.
